Spring White Wedding at The White Sparrow
Brooke and John’s Special Wedding
Planning this wedding for Brooke and John was a dream. Fantastic couple, great style and vision, and love galore from the two of them. They chose the incredible venue of The White Sparrow (https://www.thewhitesparrowbarn.com) in Quinlan, Texas. This was the very first white barn in the United States, and now because of this venue, everyone wants a white barn!
Decorations
Decorating The White Sparrow allows you to go crazy with your imagination, and utilizing white flowers in this white barn gives all the feels. We love the tables that The White Sparrow has in house - those gorgeous farm tables and cross back chairs. Brook and John flew in a friend who is a florist from California (where they both used to live), and this florist was excellent. I only wish she lived here, so we could do more events together. Michelle with Creative Light Design (https://www.instagram.com/creativelightdesign/) provided very whimsical flowers. Light and airy, they seemed to float in the air. The flowers that you see in front of this head table were re-purposed from the ceremony, where they waited for the bride and groom at the altar. Then Michelle and her crew moved them to this head table, which was the icing on the cake! The table were set with gold chargers, menu cards and a sprig of eucalyptus.
The “A” Team of Vendors
Wendy Krispin (https://www.wendykrispincaterer.com) provided the catering, and as usual, the food was excellent! She and her staff are the tops in Dallas. We met a fantastic new photographer, Valentia Vladi, (https://www.valentinavladiphoto.com/) who shot this wedding. She’s now one of my new favorites in town. And Lance Patton (https://www.mydfwdj.com/about-dfw-texas-wedding-dj) was spinning the records for a great night of dancing. To finish off this amazing team, Chris Harmon with Harmland Visions (https://www.harmlandvisions.com/) provided the videography. What an “A” team we had!
Best Wishes
We wish Brooke and John all the happiness in their new journey together. They really are a terrific couple! Be sure to read below for one of the most special moments I’ve ever experienced at a wedding. Truly such a sweet moment.
The Outdoor Wedding Ceremony. Brooke’s father has passed away, so she honored him with a special seat at the ceremony with flowers and one of his shirts.
Perhaps one of the most memorable moments of any wedding that I have attended, was with a special tribute to Brooke’s dad. Her father had recorded a special message for her when she graduated college. Lance Patton, the DJ, timed this perfectly. He got everyone’s attention, and then played this message over the loudspeaker. Seriously, there was not a dry eye in the house. Her dad, in his voice, there for her on her wedding day. After this message, Brooke danced with her mother, who was so moved. I literally got goosebumps.
